Ben Shapiro was recently a speaker at the University of North Carolina – Greensboro campus. After his speech, he opened it up to a Q&A as he always does. That’s when one woke student stepped up to the mic to show just how woke he was.
He wasn’t prepared for any of what Shapiro was going to say. Apparently, he thought that he could let out a few zingers and walk away unscathed. And if he truly believed that, he’s not familiar with the way in which Shapiro can take someone down quickly and completely.
The young student in question was a black man who quickly informed Shapiro that he was not only a mathematician but also a physicist and had won many “rare” awards. That’s a pretty odd flex to start out with, and it only gets stranger as the Q&A begins.
He didn’t actually have a question. Instead, he had a critique, telling Shapiro that he was using “old data” to support some of his arguments.
Shapiro is as quick-witted as they come, and he’s well known to do his research. He explained that all of the data cited was from just last month.
That didn’t stop the student. “Like, for example, gender identity disorder, that’s a DSM 4, bro. We used the DSM 5, now.”
The DSM that he’s referencing is the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. It’s also a book that someone with a psychology or counseling degree would know more about, not a mathematician or physicist. But we digress.
Shapiro was quick to correct him on a few issues. First, the DSM 5 is what he was referencing. Second, the issue that they were speaking of is correctly referenced as “gender dysphoria” not gender identity disorder.
For a student who is trying to be as woke as he can be, the slip-up in terminology is definitely a point against him. He may not get his woke card if he can’t figure out how to redeem himself in front of his colleagues.
Rather than own up to the fact that he had made a mistake, the student goes for broke. He stoops as low as he can by telling Shapiro that he not only sounds like “a bozo” but that “You can’t even get your wife wet.”
What in the world? At no point did Shapiro say anything that warranted such a low blow. However, it’s clear that this student needed to gain the upper hand in the argument and had no idea how to do that. Apparently, the “rare” awards that he has won didn’t help him to have an intelligent debate about a topic.
Shapiro, who has three kids, commented that he didn’t really feel as though his masculinity was being challenged. Clearly, he’s doing okay in the bedroom, not that he has to explain it to the student standing in front of him.
The student was getting visibly angry at this point. Again, instead of asking a question or bowing down to the political genius of the political commentator and lawyer, he went for another attack. He said that Shapiro has a “western colonial idea of gender.”
The sarcasm was dripping in the response. “You’re right, men and women don’t exist in any other culture. You’re right. Nailed it.”
The student began yelling about his credentials, but it was too late. He was met with a lot of booing in the audience.
To make it clear that he had won, Shapiro landed the final blow by saying that his logic is so flawed that the institution that gave him his award should “revoke it immediately.”
The moral of the story: Don’t bring your wokeness anywhere near Ben Shapiro. He will end you with a smile on his face.
