The South By South West (SXSW) festival, which happens in Austin, features films, live music performances, and many other acts of entertainment all in one location. One item not normally on the bill from the festival organizers is the ice-cream-themed truck parading up and down the street with abortion-themed items for its wares. Certainly not the kind of shop most Texans or Americans would dare go to.
Flashing the tag lines “Ice cream, you scream, Abortion rights for all,” and “Join the fight to defend abortion access,” the truck was certainly making a statement. A statement that an overwhelming majority are against. With abortion access remaining as open as it is now or becoming more open in the future. This message has been countered by increasing the volume of their leftist message of murder.
Alexis McGill Johnson, president of Planned Parenthood Action fund and CEO of Planned Parenthood Federation of America shared the tag lines from the truck on Twitter, as well as offers of free swag, condoms, and information on the policies Texas has for abortion. Their claims of them being cold-hearted is ironic, as the laws are written to protect the fetus at the time its heart begins to develop.
This debate is continuing to ramp up, and the people of Texas are ready for a solid decision to be reached. With leftists frequently looking to murder their kids instead of taking care of them, they need to wake up and smell the coffee. It’s morally and legally wrong to kill your kids this way. They need a good chance at life, and it’s something they cannot get with these women having abortions everywhere.
Given the number of families on adoption waiting lists and their willingness to give your child a warm and loving home as well as take care of the medical expenses, the argument of abortion being the only way out is a tired and overused one. This idea that we all scream for abortion rights is absurd. There is no need for these services and they are not rights. Yes, Roe v Wade came around, but that was then, and this is now… a concept the leftists love to shout but fail to embrace when it doesn’t work for them.
Ed Vitagliano, executive vice president of the American Family Association (AFA) issued a statement to Fox News this past Monday. “There is no better illustration of the moral depravity of the pro-abortion crowd than this monstrosity. To associate the thrill for children of the sights and sounds of an ice cream truck with the dismemberment of unborn children is wickedness … Yes, Planned Parenthood, your mission in life is connected to screams all right. But it’s not screams for ice cream. The blood of the innocent cries out to God for vindication.”
AFA is based out of Tupelo, MS. Their message of strengthening the moral foundations of America, and ensuring the church is properly funded, are their key goals. With 45 years of history, they are a well-known advocate for the voiceless, and they stand up for what’s right – even when the SXSW crowd and others may not want to hear what they have to say.
The biggest problem with this entire publicity stunt for Planned Parenthood is that not only was there actually no ice cream, but this was an obvious planted target to minors. Just like the old cartoons selling cigarettes, they should have easily known that kids would flock to the truck, and they should not be the targeted person at all. Kids don’t need to know about abortions before they know what long division is or how those babies were created in the first place. They can take their message of mass murder and hate and go back to California. That liberal hell-hole may be doomed anyway if liberals stay in control much longer.
