Quebec Health Minister Christian Dubé announced during a news conference that would have had folks reeling in 2019. He announced that as of Jan. 18, all the residents who wish to buy cannabis or alcohol from government-operated retailers would need to be vaccinated and show proof of vaccination.
This was, on all accounts, the province’s last-ditch effort to slow the spread of the COVID-19 the best way they know how by using its new innovative vaccine passport system. Before we move on, let’s not discredit how much more effective this tactic is this year as opposed to any year before 2020.
While attempting to supposedly just “slow the spread,” these governments are taking away rights and freedoms, all in the name of safety. The Montreal Gazette reported that the minister suggested, “If the unvaccinated aren’t happy with this situation, there is a very simple solution at your disposal. Get vaccinated, it’s free.”
Dubé said, “He hoped the aggressive measure would further incentivize vaccination at a time when 50% of those hospitalized with COVID-19 are unvaccinated despite representing only 10% of the population.” It was also reported, per the Gazette, right after the announcement came, Dubé informed them that the first dose appointments they previously scheduled skyrocketed from 1,500 to 6,000 just within 24 hrs.
The minister also warned citizens that the passport program would soon take effect in many more places like personal care services such as hair and nail salons, however, he did not expound further at this time, leaving Canadians with many unanswered questions. He said that limiting where the defiant, unvaccinated can go will ultimately force them to stay at home, and staying at home will slow the spread of COVID-19.
The French newspaper, Le Parisien, reported their French President, Emmanual Macron said that his strategy is “pissing off” the unvaccinated, forcing them into receiving the shots. He went on to say, he really wants to piss them off, and he will continue to do so, until the end. The most troubling question is what is “the end” their president is referring to?
Over in Quebec, residents are currently required to show proof of vaccination before they can enter movie theatres, sports venues, or bars except for children under the age of 13.
The Province, like many states in America, has decided COVID is rampant between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. and if people stay locked away in their houses it will help slow the spread.
The province also has put in place a curfew that runs from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. in an attempt to slow the spread of the Omicron variant. During the holiday season of Dec 1, 2020, to Jan. 1 2021 in the state of Texas alone, there were 2,462 DUI- alcohol-related traffic crashes. Out of those crashes, 215 people were seriously injured while killing 93.
Our governments will force vaccinations on us to be able to purchase alcohol, however, people are driving down the road while or shortly after drinking. Does that mean we shouldn’t sell them alcohol or cars?
We have decided people should have self-restraint and use common sense and good judgment on most fronts, however on the COVID-19 vaccines, we can’t seem to reason with the government.
Why is that? It almost seems like they have something to gain by forcing these mandates on their citizens.
Vaccines have been one of the more valuable things science has brought to the table in the way of modern-day medicine. However, the very same people who shout from the rooftops “my body, my choice” are the frontrunners for mandatory vaccines. No matter what your stance is on vaccines, the cold hard truth is if they can tell us what to put into our bodies, where can you draw the line?
Are you pissed off yet? This is just the top of the slippery slope.
