Alejandro Mayorkas is supposed to have all of the answers when it comes to immigration at the southern border. After all, he is the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.

Unfortunately, Mayorkas has been following cues from the rest of the Biden administration. He hasn’t bothered to really do his job. It explains why the border is the mess that it is. However, that’s not a sustainable answer.

Ted Cruz has questions. The senator from Texas was given the opportunity to ask Mayorkas some questions that should have been relatively easy to answer.

Only…Mayorkas doesn’t know how to answer them.

The reason that Mayorkas found himself on Capitol Hill was to testify about the ongoing border crisis. It’s only fair considering that there have been over 164.000 illegal immigrant encounters, and that’s just for the month of October. Perhaps the more terrifying part is that it’s actually a decrease from the month of September. Or, maybe it was that 29% of the encounters were due to repeat offenders.

Cruz was brutal. He asked Mayorkas how many people have died entering America.

Mayorkas stuttered.

Cruz asked how many children were sexually assaulted by traffickers and others coming across the border.

Mayorkas stuttered again before explaining that he didn’t have that data.

Cruz asked how many COVID-positive immigrants have been released into the United States.

Mayorkas looked a bit panicked. He tried to tell Cruz the policy. That’s not what Cruz wanted. He wanted the number of COVID-positive immigrants released. That’s when Mayorkas had to say that he would have to look into it.

“You don’t have that answer either,” Cruz said, shaking his head before asking another question.

Each and every question is simply unacceptable. If the DHS Secretary is unable to answer regarding the number of illegal immigrants being released into the United States who are COVID positive or who have criminal backgrounds, who can? The answer is none…and that’s why the border crisis continues to be a crisis.

This is also where Biden and Harris need to listen carefully: It. Is. A. Crisis. They can be in denial about it all they want, but they’re tucked away in DC. They’re allowing the states along the border to deal with the actual dangers…oh, and they share those dangers with other GOP states like Florida because they simply don’t care.

Cruz doesn’t relent. He goes on by asking about the Biden cages. First of all, Mayorkas doesn’t like the term. But, that’s okay. Cruz pulled out a photo of the cages to ensure that he could jog the Secretary’s memory about the conditions that he and his department have been subjecting minors to.

“Has any Democratic member of this committee given a damn enough to see the children being locked up by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris because of your failed immigration policies?” This is the next question that Cruz asks, and that’s already after confirming that neither Biden nor Harris has personally seen the Biden cages, such as those set up in Donna, Texas.

We have had to conclude that the Department of Homeland Security is being run by an ignoramus who simply does not know how to do his job and who cannot even bother to round up any kind of pertinent data before heading to Capitol Hill.

The very first sentence of the mission for DHS states, according to the DHS.gov website, “The Department of Homeland Security secures the nation’s air, land, and sea borders to prevent illegal activity.” This alone proves that Mayorkas isn’t doing his job and the Biden administration doesn’t even care.

At least we have people like Ted Cruz who are angry enough about the situation to raise more awareness of the ideocracies that are happening.
