Joe and Jill Biden hosted 1,000 military families and first responders on the Fourth of July, giving them the chance to visit the White House. It served as a celebration of Independence Day, in multiple ways. Of course, we are always going to celebrate America and we also wanted to celebrate being free of the pandemic. It is easy to understand where Biden is coming from in that regard.
The ironic part is that they had a large gathering without any masks to speak of. This is the same man who essentially threatened to call off the 4th of July if everyone was not vaccinated. The initial target was simply not reachable. Biden wanted at least 70 percent of American adults to have received their first shot by the 4th. The show still went on, despite the fact that they did not reach this goal.
Biden offered up some stern lectures about the importance of getting vaccinated but they have not seemed to sway those who remain reluctant. Meanwhile, there are countless others that cannot receive vaccinations for religious or medical reasons. He never stops to consider their needs at all when he is dividing America. That’s all he cares about.
The current president does not want unity. He wants everyone at each other’s throats. Let’s be real, no one was going to cancel their cookout just because Biden said so. This man does not hold that kind of sway over anyone’s life. The White House is running scared at this point, especially when it comes to the Capitol building.
We are in the waning stages of the pandemic and this building is still closed to the general public. No public tours and no visitors are allowed. The most obvious question that we have to ask here is why? The January protests are being blamed and that is not going to change.
“What is heartbreaking about it is that the Capitol has been forever our symbol of democracy — enduring through the Civil War, through world wars, through strife of all kinds,” said Jane L. Campbell, president and CEO of the United States Capitol Historical Society.
Sure, let’s just keep using the pandemic as an excuse, though. Lawmakers are currently working to re-imagine public tours as we know them. Visitors and crew members must remain protected at all times. That’s all well and good but what is the hold up here? It’s like they are initially doing everything in their power to push the process back.
Social distancing, face masks, and handwashing measures can all be implemented so what are we doing here, really? The staffers and lawmakers at this location have all received their vaccinations by now. As far as the protests are concerned, we respectfully believe that these worries are overblown.
The Democrats want everyone to think that we are on the verge of a legitimate insurrection but no real plans have surfaced in the past few months. Being cautious at first was understandable but this is absolute lunacy. All that we have to go on are some silly rumors about Trump potentially being reinstated in August that have already been debunked several times over.
This rumor is just another way to blame Trump and his supporters for all of the ills of the world. The powers that be are not that scared, this is all a ruse. We’ll leave you with Biden’s latest (limp and ineffectual) words from the 4th speech:
“My fellow Americans, it is the most patriotic thing you can do. So please, if you have not gotten vaccinated, do it now. Do it for yourselves, your loved ones and your communities,” he said.
“The best defense against these variants is to get vaccinated,” Biden added.
Beyond the pandemic, Biden alluded to issues Americans face ranging from climate change to the fight for transgender rights, giving a pointed nod to voter rights, which Democrats say are under assault in multiple states across the country.
“Each day we’re reminded there’s nothing guaranteed about our democracy. We have to fight for it,” he said, adding that “the right to vote and have that vote counted” is sacred.”
Open the Capitol building, Sleepy Joe! You’ve dawdled long enough….
