The CIA’s latest recruitment video is a laugh and a half. It’s like they are trying to get people to make fun of them at this point. The video prominently features an “intersectional” and “cisgender” Latina mother. This mother wants to make sure that everyone knows she was hired because she is the best one for the job.
She’s “educated, qualified and competent”. They put plenty of woke language on display here, so that the audience will know just how much they care. It plays like something out of a satirical cartoon. We cannot believe the silliness that is taking place here.
“I can change a diaper with one hand and console a crying toddler with the other. I’m a woman of color. I am a mom. I am a cisgender millennial who’s been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder. I am intersectional, but my existence is not a box-checking exercise. I am a walking declaration, a woman whose inflection does not rise at the end of her sentences, suggesting that a question has been asked,” says the woman in the clip.
Donald Trump Jr. is not impressed, though. “China and Russia loves this,” he wrote in response to the video. “Woke Latina CIA agent in recruitment video lists all her identities (intersectional, cisgender, millennial woman of color with anxiety disorder) EXCEPT American. God help us,” said Rachel Campos-Duffy (Fox News contributor).

They were not the only ones who slammed the video. Meghan McCain could not resist. “This CIA recruitment video is a joke and truly embarrassing for our entire country. China, Russia and our enemies are laughing at us,” she says. It’s not like any of these people are lying either.
This is what happens any time a Democrat gets control of the White House. It’s like they think they need to go on some sort of apology tour to make up for the mean old conservatives. It’s belittling behavior and it needs to stop. America is at stake and these clowns do not seem to realize that.

It’s all fun and games until we are significantly weakened in the eyes of our adversaries. These are the warnings that we have tried to offer but they seem to fall on deaf ears. Even when they come from more prominent conservatives, the liberals are quick to ignore them. This WKYC report sheds more light on the current hiring situation for minority candidates:
“In fiscal 2019, the intelligence community saw an incremental increase in the number of minority professionals — 26.5%, up from 26.2%,” the report begins. “Even with all the challenges 2020 posed, it was a standout recruitment year for CIA. Our incoming class is the third-largest in a decade and represents the most diverse talent pool,” says CIA spokeswoman Nicole de Haay.
“I used to struggle with imposter syndrome, but at thirty-six I refuse to internalize misguided patriarchal ideas of what a woman can or should be. I am tired of feeling like I’m supposed to apologize for the space I occupy, rather than intoxicate people with my effort, my brilliance. I am proud of me. Full stop. My parents left everything they knew and love to expose me to opportunities they never had. Because of them, I stand here today a proud first-generation Latina and officer at CIA,” says the woman in the video.
Meanwhile, none of the evidence on hand supports any of these theatrics. The CIA is doing just fine when it comes to the hiring of minority professionals. It’s still fun to juxtapose these silly quotes with the actual facts and figures. In fact, we’ll leave you with one last laugh from these jokers….
“It is not enough to just say that CIA values people from diverse backgrounds and diverse abilities, we have to challenge ourselves and commit to regularly questioning how do our actions actually embody those values? In many ways, I think CIA is a microcosm of the world. The same societal issues that we grapple with outside of these walls don’t just cease to exist once we enter the building. What is critical and what gives me optimism that we are moving in the right direction is that there are people here who recognize that and are holding CIA as an institution accountable for the diversity and inclusion that it champions,” says one woman, in the ultimate display of Woke Bingo.
