As the American southeast finds itself in the midst of a full-fledged gas crisis, the Democrats are not doing enough to address the problem. While some gas stations have decided to raise their gas prices to unspeakable new levels, others cannot even provide their patrons with this basic service. Meanwhile, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has decided that this is the right time to be shutting off a helpful gas pipeline.
The Washington Examiner has looked into this and we are not sure what this woman is thinking:
“Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer ordered a Canadian energy company to shut down an oil pipeline long targeted by activists despite fuel shortages brought on by the cyberattack on the nation’s largest pipeline.
Why is Gretchen Whitmer is trying to shut down a Michigan pipeline in the middle of a national gas crisis?

“These oil pipelines in the Straits of Mackinac are a ticking timebomb, and their continued presence violates the public trust and poses a grave threat to Michigan’s environment and economy,” Whitmer’s office said in a statement about the pipeline.
Whitmer gave Enbridge, the company that runs the pipeline known as Line 5, until Wednesday to shut down amid fears that it could spill any day. Enbridge, however, said the pipeline has been in operation for 67 years and has not once had a leak, though a different Enbridge pipeline did spill nearly a million gallons of oil into the Kalamazoo River in 2010.
The company said it has been “working to tunnel beneath the lake bed to further improve the safety of the pipeline” after it was hit by boat and anchor cables in recent years,” the report reads.
A prominent Michigan newspaper took aim at @GovWhitmer, suggesting the governor was “clueless” after she demanded a shutdown of an oil pipeline.

This timeline does not make any sense whatsoever. The nation is in the midst of a gas crisis and she thinks that this is the time to pull such a move? “It was as if she was clueless to the unfolding crisis caused when the Colonial line went down,” said one local newspaper. We could not agree more.
If we didn’t know any better, we would assume that Whitmer is actively looking to make the problem worse. How could she be so dense at a time like this? It truly boggles the mind. She’s finally gotten tired of ruining everyone’s lives with her mask mandates and her insane COVID-19 related rules, moving on to something else.
The summer is here, vaccines are circulating and Americans should be able to return to some small level of normalcy. Instead, Whitmer seems to want her constituents to live in continued misery. No matter how bad things seem to get, she can always find a way to make them worse, can’t she?
This is why people are no longer trusting of so many Democrat leaders. It can feel as if many of them do not have any sort of finger on the pulse. A good leader is supposed to be able to know the pulse of the people and make decisions accordingly. Whitmer, on the other hand, finds sore spots and then thinks of new ways to poke at them.
We are waiting to see what kind of foolishness happens next. When she told people that they needed to remain at home and not visit vacation homes, what was the first thing that Whitmer did? She was spotted visiting her own vacation home. When Michiganders weren’t supposed to be traveling out of state, what was the first thing that Whitmer did? She immediately went to Florida and did not care one iota about the perception that this created for the rest of the state.
At this rate, we are expecting her to pull up to a press conference in a pricey, new gas-guzzling SUV, just to drive the point home (see what we did there)? She’s lost the plot ages ago and this is just the latest example of that. We wish the good people of Michigan all of the best as they try their best to deal with the madness. It’s going to be a long, hot summer.
