The White House is full of people who love to ignore the news but we guess that they have finally found someone who knows how to read a poll. Before we know it, there is sure to be a new border apprehension announcement from the border patrol. The numbers may go down a bit but we are not easy to fool.
They are still going to be dangerously high. So how can they possibly convince the average American that they have it all under control? The Biden administration has it all figured out. It is time to announce a new plan and make sure to focus on cross-border trafficking.
Of course, no plan like this can be unveiled without having a snappy nickname. ABC News has more about these recent developments:
“DHS said “Operation Sentinel” will be focused not only on cutting off transnational crime organizations funding, but on the actual operations of smuggling.
“We know all too well that these organizations put profit over human life with devastating consequences,” DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told reporters on a conference call. “With the help of our federal and foreign partners, we aim to cut off access to that profit by denying these criminal organizations, the ability to engage in travel trade and finance in the United States.
We intend to disrupt every facet of the logistical network that these organizations use to succeed,” he said. “Operation Sentinel will focus on disrupting the transnational criminal organizations that smuggle migrants into the United States.”
If you are asking us, we believe that these measures are being taken because of a very disturbing video that came out recently. Those who have seen it can attest to how horrific it is. The video depicts two toddlers that are being dropped over a wall and left to fend for themselves.
This clip has shocked a lot of people and these shock waves finally seem to have resonated at the White House. The children are 3 and 5 years old, respectively. We are happy to inform our readers that they have been rescued and reunited with their parents. These parents paid for the privilege of having them brought here. According to NBC News, this story is not a unique one:
“Troy Miller, acting commissioner of Customs and Border Protection, said his agency has rescued 4,766 migrants along the southwest border since October who were abandoned by smugglers.
“Transnational criminal organizations routinely attempt to smuggle people in groups but often end up abandoning women and children when they can’t keep up,” Miller said.”
Now that the weather is starting to turn, we are expecting this problem to go from bad to worse. Sadly, even those who make it across the border are going to be exploited by the cartels that extract a hefty price for their assistance. National Review paints a pretty bleak picture:
“Just a few weeks ago, 180 miles from the border, in the quiet San Antonio suburban town of Boerne, Texas, a vehicle carrying nine people — two stuffed in the trunk — was stopped for a traffic violation. All of the occupants told the exact same story — a common reality of cartel-driven smuggling and trafficking. They stated they were stranded on the side of the road and hitchhiking. The driver and his girlfriend were “kind enough” to pick them up. In reality, the driver was ordered to pick them up.
The driver was smuggling these illegal immigrants from Mexico and Honduras after crossing through the Del Rio sector — territory of the Cartel del Noreste, a faction of Los Zetas. Among the passengers was a young teenage boy who had paid $4,000 to be transported to California to pick grapes for $13 an hour. However, the cartel had different plans. The boy learned they were actually headed to a stash house in Houston — where those who did not pay the full amount would have been held until the balance was paid, or they would be sold into trafficking.”
This is a common story. Biden has created this problem by opening the borders and now he wants to pin it on the traffickers. Sure, we can break up cartel operations and that’s always nice but it does not address the root cause of the issue. Get a clue, Biden, and quickly!
